Recycling Solution’s rare and technical gas division, “RT GAS”, upgraded the equipment at a production site at Zaporizhstal to increase the production of stored argon inert gas.

To this end, the company installed new cryogenic tanks and gasifiers, pumping stations for liquid argon and electric heater at the steel mill. The replacement of the current but technically outdated system for gas collection and accumulation produces up to 200 tons of liquid argon per month for further sale. As of today,  “RT GAS” is selling about 12,000 tons of this liquefied gas per year. Also, the new high-tech equipment will save energy during gasification. The volume of investments into the equipment modernization project amounted to $635k.

For Zaporizhstal, argon is a technological byproduct of oxygen and nitrogen production. The chemical inertness and low thermal conductivity of this noble gas predetermine the market demand for it. Argon finds application in metallurgy, electric welding, household, and industrial goods production, as well as in research and development.
